Boston Terrorism Suspects Planned To Behead a Police Officer: Report

The man shot dead by antiterrorism officers in Boston late Tuesday and the suspect arrested Tuesday night in Everett, Mass., had planned to kill a police officer, according to the Boston Globe, which cited two law-enforcement officials described as having been briefed on the case. According to the newspaper, one of the officers said the two intended to behead a police officer and were planning to take action Tuesday. Usaama Rahim, who had been under around-the-clock surveillance for weeks, was shot after police said he confronted officers with a large knife. David Wright, Rahim's alleged accomplice, is scheduled to appear in federal court in Boston later Wednesday.
