Bonjangles' Shares Higher After Earnings Beat
Bojangles' Inc. said Thursday it earned $6.3 million, or 17 cents a share, in the second quarter, compared with 17 cents a share a year ago. Adjusted for one-time items, the chicken-and-biscuits fast-food chain earned 23 cents a share. Revenues rose 19% on-year to $120.5 million in the quarter from $106.5 million a year ago. Analysts expected Bojangles to report adjusted earnings of 16 cents a share on sales of $121 million. Bojangles' said its comparable-restaurant sales rose 4.4% on the year. The company also increased its 2015 revenue guidance to between $483 million to $487.5 million, and said it will accelerate openings in the year to 59 to 63 new company-operated and franchised restaurants. Shares of Bojangles rose 1.6% late Thursday after ending the regular session down 1.3%.
