Boko Haram Leader Denies Nigeria's Truce
Boko Haram's leader Abubakar Shekau denied reports of a truce with the Nigerian government, and said the roughly 200 schoolgirls kidnapped in April had been long "married off," according to reports that cited a video handed to Nigerian media on Friday. Nigeria's government had announced a cease-fire and talks with the group weeks ago, which had heightened hopes the girls and other captives would be released. Nigeria has insisted negotiations with Boko Haram, a Islamist group that controls much of northeastern Nigeria, are ongoing in neighboring Chad, according to reports.
