Boeing's Stock Surges, To Lead Dow Gainers

Boeing Co.'s stock ran up 2.3% in midday trade Monday, enough to make it the biggest gainer among Dow Jones Industrial Average , after a report that Iranair was in talks to potentially buy over 100 jets from the aerospace giant. Reuters reported, after speaking with Iranair Chairman Farhad Parvaresh, that the order could match the order for over 100 jets from Airbus . Parvaresh told Reuters that meetings and negotiations were ongoing, with the number and type of aircraft to be discussed in the future after an understanding has been reached. The Iranian air carrier is also talking to Boeing about providing support for its aging fleet, Reuters reported. Boeing shares were now down 9.9% year to date, while the Dow is up 2.8%.
