Bob Simon Of '60 Minutes' Killed In Car Crash
Longtime correspondent for CBS News's "60 Minutes" Bob Simon died in a car accident late Wednesday at age 73, CBS reported. The fatal crash occurred on Manhattan's West Side Highway at about 7 p.m. local time as Simon rode in a livery cab, the New York Post reported, citing unnamed sources. Simon won 27 Emmy Awards for his coverage, which spanned five decades and included reporting on the Vietnam War, CBS said. He jointed "60 Minutes" in 1996.
