'Birdman' Takes Oscar For Best Director
"Birdman" won its third Oscar of the evening at Sunday's Academy Awards, taking the prestigious award for best director. The film's helmer, Alejandro G. Inarritu, took home a second statuette, as he moments earlier shared in the film's victory for best original screenplay. "Birdman" was distributed by 21st Century Fox Inc.'s Fox Searchlight unit.
