Shares of some top big-box retail companies are up at 1 p.m.:

Costco Wholesale Corp. rose $1.68 or 1.2 percent, to $146.25.

Target rose $.78 or 1.0 percent, to $80.80.

Wal-Mart Stores Inc. rose $.57 or .7 percent, to $78.45.
