Battery maker Energizer to name personal care spinoff Edgewell Personal Care

Energizer, which is in the process of splitting into two separate companies, said Friday that it will name its personal care spinoff Edgewell Personal Care.

Edgewell's brands will include Schick razors, Edge shaving gel and Playtex feminine-care products. The other company, which sells batteries, flashlights and portable lamps, will keep the Energizer name.

The split is scheduled to happen on July 1.

On that day, Edgewell is expected to start trading on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol "EPC." Energizer Holdings Inc. will continue to trade under the "ENR" symbol.

Energizer announced the split in April, saying that splitting in two would give each company a clearer focus.

Edgewell said its new logo will be an aqua blue hummingbird.

Shares of St. Louis-based Energizer slipped 18 cents to $134.31 in afternoon trading Friday.
