Apple Earnings Would Have Been Even Better If It Weren't For The Pesky Strong Dollar
Apple Inc.'s second-quarter earnings were stellar -- but they would have been even higher, if it weren't for the pesky strong dollar. On the company's conference call, Chief Financial Officer Luca Maestri said the revenue outlook for the third quarter of $46 billion to $48 billion is "about what the Street was looking for". The outlook is pretty strong, he said, considering the "severity of the impact of the stronger dollar on revenue outside the U.S." Apple joins a swathe of companies to complain this earnings season about the impact of the dollar strength on their top and bottom lines.
