Apple Could Face Music-streaming Probe In U.S.
An antitrust investigation into Apple Inc.'s music streaming service may expand to the U.S. from Europe, according to a report in the New York Post. Regulators in Washington have been holding talks with music-industry executives to determine whether Apple has engaged in anticompetitive practices, the report said. This would follow a probe in the European Union over actions by Apple and other music streaming companies over their freemium business models. Apple did not immediately respond to a request for comment. Its shares closed up 0.9% to $125.32 on Thursday.
