API Data Reportedly Show U.S. Crude Supply Down 2.9 Million Barrels

The American Petroleum Institute late Tuesday reported that crude supplies fell 2.9 million barrels for the week ended June 12, according to sources. Analysts surveyed by Platts forecast a 2.4 million-barrel decline. July crude was at $60.08 a barrel in electronic trading, up from the $59.97 close on Nymex. The more closely watched Energy Information Administration report is due Wednesday.
