American Apparel Shares Surge After Dov Charney Fired

American Apparel Inc. shares rose in the extended session Tuesday after the company fired suspended CEO Dov Charney. Shares of American Apparel rose 14% to 66 cents a share on moderate volume. Charney was suspended back in June for alleged misconduct. The termination was "for cause," American Apparel said. Interim CEO Scott Brubaker will remain on until Paula Schneider takes over as CEO on Jan. 5, the company said.
