American Airlines To Defer Delivery Of Airbus Aircraft

American Airlines Group Inc. said on Monday it has amended its purchase agreement with Airbus Group to defer the delivery of 35 Airbus A320. American said in a regulatory filing in March that it had commitments to buy 10 A320neo family aircraft in 2017 and 25 of the same aircraft in 2018. In a filing on Monday, American said it now has commitments to buy 25 A320neo family aircraft in 2019, and a total of 75 A320neo family aircraft in 2020 and thereafter. American Airlines' stock is little changed in premarket trade. It has slumped 24% year to date, while the S&P 500 has gained 1.7%.
