Amazon Launches Restaurant Delivery Service In Austin

Amazon.com Inc. said on Tuesday that it launched a one-hour restaurant delivery service for its Prime Now customers in Austin, Texas. Starting Tuesday, customers using the Prime Now app can view menus and place orders from participating local restaurants and track deliveries in real time. The service is available across 15 zip codes around downtown Austin. Delivery on all orders will be free for a limited time. Amazon's stock, which was up 0.7% in premarket trade, has more than doubled year to date, while the S&P 500 has lost 1.8%.
