Altera Shareholders Support Acquisition By Intel

Altera Corp. said late Tuesday that shareholders approved the chip maker's acquisition by Intel Corp. . Altera said more than 97% of votes supported the acquisition. Back in June, Intel agreed to buy Altera for $16.7 billion in cash, or about $54 a share. Altera shares rose 0.8% to $50.30 after hours, while Intel shares were down 0.2% at $31.69.
