Agilent Technologies Shares Fall After Earnings Miss
Agilent Technologies Inc. late Monday reported earnings of $83 million, or 25 cents a share, in the fiscal second quarter, compared with $139 million, or 41 cents a share, a year ago. Adjusted for one-time items, the company reported earnings of 38 cents a share on the quarter. Second-quarter revenues were $963 million, down 3% from the $988 million a year ago, the company said. Analysts polled by FactSet had expected Agilent, which provides instruments, software, services and products for laboratories, to report adjusted earnings of 39 cents a share on the quarter on revenues of $990 million. Shares of Agilent fell 3.2% in after-hours trading Monday after ending the regular trading session up 1.4%.
