Aer Lingus Rejects Bid Proposal From British Airways's Parent

British Airways's parent firm International Consolidated Airlines Group Ltd. said Thursday its proposal to make an offer to buy Aer Lingus Group PLC was rejected by the Irish carrier. "There can be no certainty that any further proposal or offer will be forthcoming," said IAG, which didn't disclose the offer amount. Shares of Aer Lingus were up 13% in afternoon trade, and IAG's stock climbed 3.6%.
