AAA Michigan: Statewide gas prices unchanged in past week at average of $2.86 per gallon

AAA Michigan says average statewide gas prices are relatively unchanged from last week, at about $2.86 per gallon.

The auto club said Sunday that the past week's average for self-serve unleaded gas is about 37 cents less than it was one year ago.

Dearborn-based AAA Michigan surveys fuel costs at 2,800 Michigan gas stations daily. It says the cheapest price was about $2.82 a gallon in the Traverse City area. The highest average was about $2.91 a gallon in the Marquette area.

The average price in the Detroit area was down about 2 cents from last week, at $2.84 per gallon.
