A rate rise in October is possible, Richmond Fed President Jeffrey Lacker said in an interview with The Wall Street Journal. "I don't see why not," Lacker said. "We will have another labor market report. Presumably that will move us further toward labor market improvement." Lacker dissented from the last Federal Reserve decision to keep interest rates near zero, as they have stood since the end of 2008.
