1 worker dead, 3 hurt in steel frame collapse at construction site at North Texas school
The steel frame of an under-construction activities center has collapsed outside a North Texas school, leaving one worker dead and three others hurt.
The accident happened Thursday morning at Argyle High School before classes began.
Authorities are trying to determine what caused the collapse in Argyle, about 20 miles north of Fort Worth. Heavy beams and other parts of frame were scattered on the ground.
Argyle Volunteer Fire Department Chief Mac Hohenberg (HO'-en-ber-ger) says the man who died was on a lift, about 35 feet up, that also came down when the structure fell. Two men were treated and released from a hospital. The third injured man was treated at the scene.
A message left with the general contractor, Northstar Builders Group, wasn't returned Thursday.
