Gamers are getting a talk show
The U.S. Army is using a mobile video game trailer as a tool for bringing in new recruits. FOX Business’ Grady Trimble with more.

Video-game streamer Twitch is teaming up with Turner Sports to create a talk show, “ELEAGUE Super Punch powered by Twitch and will be hosted by game-streaming pros Ify Nwadiwe, Kelly Nugent, J.D. Witherspoon and Alex Corea.
The move comes as esports continues to become more popular. The industry topped $1 billion in 2019, up 27 percent from the year before, according to a report in Rueters.

Esports host and on-air personality Katie Bedford shares her insights on Ninja, a popular video game streamer, partnering with Adidas and the growing number of influencers within the online gaming community.
As the industry “continues tremendous growth, infrastructure and the creation of live, in-person experiences for gamers of all levels, [it] will become paramount to the ecosystem and communities being developed,” said Frank Ng, Allied Chief Executive Officer said in a press release. “Retail locations like shopping malls are the perfect foundation for this industry innovation and we’re excited to expand our on-mall presence.”

What’s more, Twitch came out as the top streaming platform for games in 2019.
The free Amazon-owned service logged more than 9 billion hours watched last year, which was a 20 percent increase year-over-year. That’s compared to YouTube Gaming, which logged just 2 billion streaming hours and Facebook Gaming, which racked up about 350 million hours, according to the StreamElements & Arsenal.gg's State of the Stream report.
