Yahoo Urging Apple To Ditch Google As Default For Safari: Report

Silicon Valley's major tech companies are teaming up against Google, or so it seems. Less than a week after Mozilla replaced Google with Yahoo as its primary U.S. search provider, subscriber-based news source The Information reports that Yahoo and search partner Microsoft are now aggressively trying to get Apple Inc. to do the same. Apple, which competes directly with Google in the mobile device market, currently uses Google as the default search engine for the Safari browser, which comes as a default on Apple iOS and Mac OS. Their contract expires in 2015. However, in June, Apple replaced Google with Bing as iOS and Mac OS' Spotlight search provider
