Uber Launches Auto Rickshaw Service In Delhi, Prices Follow Government Rules

Uber announced a new service Thursday in Delhi, India where users can hail auto rickshaws and pay the government-set fare prices in cash. The service, called uberAUTO, comes after Uber, an unlicensed ride-hailing app, was banned from operating in Delhi and after a driver reportedly raped a passenger there. The price of the rides is determined by the meter and fare rules from Delhi state authorities. In its blog, the company said there's no additional booking fee or additional charge for riders.
