U.S. Stocks Open Lower Ahead Of Fed Statement

U.S. stocks opened lower on Wednesday after a report showed that the economy grew at a much slower pace than expected during the first quarter. A Federal Reserve statement after the conclusion of its two-day policy meeting today also looms. The S&P 500 opened down 6 points, or 0.3%, at 2,108. The Nasdaq Composite opened 16 points, or 0.3%, lower at 5,038. The Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 58 points, or 0.4%, to 18,046.
