U.S. Stocks Open Higher, On Track For Weekly Gains

The U.S. stock market opened slightly higher on Friday and the indexes looked set to book weekly gains. The reassurance from the Federal Reserve on Wednesday that it will take a slow and steady approach on raising rates sparked a rally on Wall Street for two sessions, during which the indexes booked their best two-day gains in three years. The S&P 500 opened 3 points, or 0.1%, higher at 2,064. The Dow Jones Industrial Average added 25 points, or 0.1%, to 17,805 at the open. The Nasdaq Composite began the day flat at 4,747.
