Sony Says It Will Pull 'The Interview' From Theaters

MarketWatch Pulse

Sony Pictures Entertainment said Wednesday it would cancel the Christmas Day release of "The Interview," the subject of recent hack attacks and violent threats against the company and theater owners, the Wall Street Journal reported. Sony decided to make the move after four of the nation's largest theater chains said they would not show the film on the Dec. 25 release date. It was not clear when or whether the movie would be rescheduled. The film, about two hapless fictional television journalists who are called upon by the CIA to assassinate the real-life leader of North Korea, Kim Jong-un, has been the subject of hack attacks against Sony that have proven damaging to the film studio and its executives.
