Obamacare Cost Projections Dropping

MarketWatch Pulse

The cost of administering the Affordable Care Act over the next decade will be $142 billion less than expected just two months ago, the Congressional Budget Office said in a report issued Monday. The CBO says that Obamacare will result in a net cost of $1.21 trillion over the period 2016 to 2025, down from its January estimate of $1.35 trillion. A downward revision in the health insurance premium costs as well as new data about those who would be covered under the program contributed to the lowering of the estimate.
