New York -- A Delta Air Lines Inc. jetliner skidded off the runway Thursday, according to numerous reports. The plane, Delta Flight 1086, hit a fence before stopping during landing amid snowy and icy conditions, according to CNN.com, citing the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. The incident has resulted in the temporary closure of the airport, according to Reuters. According to CNN, 125 passengers and 5 crew members were evacuated from the flight using inflatable slides. The airline incident occurs as the East Coast is being buffeted by a major snowstorm.
