Top 10 Most American-Made Cars of 2011

Through its American-Made Index, Cars.com determined which cars are the “most American.” The list takes into account where the car is assembled, the percentage of the car’s parts that are made in the U.S. and aligns it with the amount of cars sold here.   Take a look:

Toyota Camry The mid-sized sedan tops the list with parts made in both Kentucky and Indiana.

Honda Accord: The sedan ranked high on the list because the majority of its parts are made in Ohio and Alabama.

Chevy Malibu The highest American automobile on the list jumps two spots from 2010 with many parts being made in Kansas City, Kan.

Ford Explorer The highest-ranking SUV on the list makes its debut in the rankings thanks to its massive production facility in Chicago.

Honda Odyssey The minivan rose one spot on the list from 2010 as production increased in its Alabama manufacturing plant.

Toyota Sienna The minivan jumped four spots from last year thanks to increased production in Indiana.

Jeep Wrangler The original off-road vehicle climbed two spots from 2010 based upon production at its Toledo, Ohio plant.

Chevrolet Traverse The Lansing Michigan product is a newcomer to the list in 2011.

Toyota Tundra This truck is Toyota’s third and final addition to the list as much of it is manufactured in the U.S. at its San Antonio facility. (Copyright 2008 Dewhurst Photography All Rights Reserved)

GMC Arcadia GMC’s only contribution to the list is another Lansing product proving that Detroit may no longer be ‘Motor City.’
