Opening its first store in Lowell, Mass., in 1963, CVS was founded by brothers Stanley and Sidney Goldstein and Ralph Hoagland. Today, CVS Caremark is the biggest pharmacy health care provider in the U.S. with more than 7,000 stores in 43 states.
