Telecoms Down As Traders Await Merger Developments -- Telecoms Roundup

Shares of telecommunications companies ticked down as traders awaited further information on pending mergers.

U.S. broadcaster CBS plans to buy Australian rival Ten Network Holdings out of bankruptcy, beating out a bid from Australian media moguls Bruce Gordon and Lachlan Murdoch. Mr. Murdoch is co-chairman of News Corp, which owns Wall Street Journal publisher Dow Jones.
