Porch.com and Lowe’s Take Home Improvement Partnership National
Home improvement retailer Lowe’s is expanding its partnership with startup Porch.com to include all 1,700 Lowe’s locations. The two companies paired up in January to bring Porch.com’s network of home improvement professionals and project data into 139 Lowe’s locations in the Carolinas.
Porch.com CEO Matt Ehrlichman tells FOXBusiness.com he views the expansion as a vote of confidence in the startup, which launched 18 months ago. Porch.com helps connect homeowners and renters with home improvement professionals like painters, plumbers and remodelers that have worked with neighbors or completed similar projects in the past.
At the Porch.com kiosks in Lowe’s stores, Ehrlichman says associates help shoppers learn more about their options when it comes to seeking professional home improvement help. The Porch.com network currently includes 1.5 million experts and information on over 100 million projects. Ehrlichman declined to share how many new projects have been started or completed using Porch.com.
Ehrlichman says Porch.com is “all in” when it comes to its relationship with Lowe’s.
“We’re focused on the partnership … It’s a good fit. Our cultures match, and they let us run really fast,” says Ehrlichman. All 250,000 Lowe’s associates will be trained on how to use the Porch.com platform, according to Ehrlichman.
Porch.com has raised $6.25 million in seed funding. In addition to the relationship with Lowe’s, Porch.com announced a partnership with Realtor.com last month. The real estate site now displays Porch.com’s information on the remodeling history of for-sale homes listed on Realtor.com.
