Alice in Wonderland Tim Burton’s take on a Disney classic won awards for art direction and costume design. The film, which featured Mia Wasikowska and Johnny Depp earned $334.2 million during its box-office run.
Inception The Scifi thriller pushed the boundaries of imagination and consequently won Oscars for sound mixing, sound editing and visual effects. The film, which stars Leonardo DiCaprio, raked in $292.6 million while in theaters.
The King’s Speech The Oscar’s big winner took home best picture, actor in a leading role, directing and original screenplay while earning $114.5 million at the box office as of Feb. 27, 2011.
Black Swan The film provided a disturbing look inside the world of professional ballet and nabbed Natalie Portman an Oscar for actress in a leading role. It also took in $113.6 million in the U.S as of Feb. 27, 2011.
The Social Network Directed by Aaron Sorkin, the movie about the founders of social-networking giant Facebook won awards for film editing, adapted screenplay and original score while bringing in $96.8 million at the box office.
The Fighter The biopic of 'Irish' Mickey Ward took home the award for Actor and Actress in a Supporting Role while banking $90.4 million in theaters as of Feb. 27, 2011.
The Wolfman The movie about a man who is bitten and subsequently cursed by a werewolf took home an Oscar for makeup while making $62 million in theaters.
