Now You Can Order Papa John's From Your Apple TV

So engrossed in an Apple TV-powered movie-watching binge that you've failed to fill your belly? Let Papa John's be your savior.

The pizza chain on Tuesday one-upped fellow tech-savvy rivals Pizza Hut and Domino's with the launch of what it's calling the first Apple TV app from a national restaurant brand. The app lets you build your desired pizza, topping by topping, and order it right from your TV.

Those with an existing Papa John's account can just sign in with those credentials to access delivery location, credit card information, and favorites. You can also select from past and saved orders for one-tap ordering.

Papa John's is giving Apple TV users an incentive to try out the new app. When ordering through the new app, you'll automatically get a 25 percent discount on your purchase — no separate code required. The chain did not specify if this was for all orders or just your first; PCMag reached out for more details.

"Pizza and entertainment are a natural fit," John Schnatter, founder, chairman, and CEO of Papa John's, said in a statement. "With the launch of our Apple TV app, we're hoping to make family movie night and friend gatherings around the TV even more enjoyable by delivering the same quality product and experience our customers expect in a convenient and interactive way."

The app is compatible with the fourth-generation Apple TV. Download the chain's app in the App Store.

Meanwhile on the pizza tech front, Domino's in June tipped a new feature for its app that lets you order a pie without so much as a single click.
