Advertisements for the new Gorilla Glass 3 were on display at CES. The latest variation of Corning’s scratch-resistant display defends against damage better than previous versions, according to the company. Corning also said Gorilla Glass 3 will be used by hardware makers in the second half of 2013.

Samsung Electronics executive vice president Joe Stinziano stands next to an 85-inch Ultra High Definition television, one of several models unveiled by the company. Samsung also showed the CES crowd a new 55-inch OLED television and new “smart” televisions that have Internet access built-in. The F8000 LED television can recognize verbal commands and hand gestures, similar to Microsoft’s Xbox Kinect.
