Materials Down, But Not by Much, as Dollar Retreats -- Materials Roundup

Shares of mining companies and other commodities producers fell, but not by as much as the broad market as the dollar retreated against other currencies. Copper and gold, both sensitive to moves in the greenback, rose slightly on the session. Barrick Gold declined after analysts at brokerage BMO cut their rating, citing conflict with Tanzania.
