Industrials Up Ahead of Fed Move - Industrials Roundup

Shares of manufacturing and transportation companies ticked up as traders awaited the Federal Reserve's rate decision Wednesday. General Electric recently conducted an internal review into the flying of a spare business jet that accompanied the one used to transport former Chief Executive Jeff Immelt, The Wall Street Journal reported. William Cowan, GE's vice president of litigation and legal policy, is investigating who at the company was aware of the practice. Shares of truck maker Navistar International rose after analysts at brokerage Stifel said its new suite of heavy-duty trucks is helping it win back market share in the U.S. Industrials and materials could be among the leading sectors in 2018, said Chris Zaccarelli, chief investment officer at the Independent Advisor Alliance group of financial advisers, in a note to clients. "Industrials should benefit from infrastructure spending," said Mr. Zaccarelli. "Materials should move higher if inflation returns, since we are at cyclical lows for unemployment and this bull market is already the second longest of any in the past 100 years."
