IAC says it settled sexual harassment lawsuit filed by Tinder co-founder
IAC/InterActiveCorp says it settled a sexual harassment and discrimination lawsuit filed by a co-founder of dating app Tinder.
A spokesman for IAC, which owns Tinder, says the lawsuit was settled without the company admitting wrongdoing.
The lawsuit was filed by Tinder's co-founder and former vice president of marketing Whitney Wolfe in June. It said that Tinder's founders engaged in "atrocious sexual harassment and sex discrimination" against Wolfe.
According to the suit, Wolfe was the face of Tinder's marketing efforts to young women and appeared in several magazine articles promoting the app. It also said that Wolfe came up with the name for the app.
A lawyer for Wolfe did not immediately respond to request for comment.
New York-based IAC also owns other digital properties, including Match.com, CollegeHumor and Dictionary.com.
