The Sanctuary on Camelback Mountain in Scottsdale, Ariz., offers a three-day triathlon prep program that trains guests in swimming, biking and running and offers a massage after each day’s work. The resort also offers a four-day Satori wellness retreat that includes nutrition coaching, personal training, two spa treatments and classes in yoga, Pilates and dance. The triathlon and Satori packages cost between $1,797 to $2,455 for a single occupancy.
LaCosta Resort in Carlsbad, Calif., offers a week-long fitness camp that requires guests to stick to a mandatory 1,200 calorie per day diet and exercise six hours a day. Restricted to 50 guests at any time, the resort offers unrestricted access to fitness, nutrition and exercise coaches, and has had people stay as long as 15 weeks, losing as much as 100 pounds. One week starts at $4,350.
The El Dorado Royale, located in the Riviera Maya, Mexico offers one to six day courses that include personal training and nutrition coaching along with all-organic meals sourced from the resort’s 100,000-square foot greenhouse. Guests can choose from 15 different fitness classes each day, and prices start at $371 per person, per night.
The Surf & Sand Resort in Laguna Beach, Calif., offers beachside yoga and bootcamps that accommodate all fitness levels. Guests receive one-on-one coaching from diet and nutrition experts to get real-life solutions once the beachside regime is complete. Rates start at $425 per night for a single occupancy.
Canyon Ranch Hotel & Spa in Miami Beach encourages guests to bring the whole family for fitness activities like rock climbing and yoga, and also offers classes exclusive to children including hula hooping and obstacle courses. More than 40 private adult classes as well as coaching by health and wellness experts are available on a daily basis. Rooms start at $605 a night, and there is no minimum or maximum length of stay to accommodate busy family schedules.
The Ranch at Live Oak in Malibu offers a weeklong fitness program that is mandatory for all guests. The program is limited to 16 guests per week, and packs four to five hours of mountain hiking into each day. Guests spend afternoons exercising in classes focusing on weight lifting and yoga, and enjoy a private massage every evening. The resort includes an organic farm where guests can harvest their own healthy foods.
