FOX Business Network and the Wall Street Journal Present Two GOP Presidential Primary Debates on November 10th

Network Announces Entry Criteria FBN Anchors Maria Bartiromo & Neil Cavuto to Moderate Primetime Debate Along with WSJ Editor-in-Chief Gerard Baker FBN’s Trish Regan, Sandra Smith & WSJ’s Gerald Seib to Moderate Undercard Debate

FOX Business Network (FBN) and The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) announced today that they will present two Republican presidential primary debates in conjunction with the Republican National Committee (RNC) on November 10, 2015. The debates will focus on the economy and be presented live from the Milwaukee Theatre in Milwaukee, WI, on FBN and FOXBusiness.com.

Moderated by FBN’s Managing Editor of Business News Neil Cavuto and Global Markets Editor Maria Bartiromo, along with WSJ’s Editor-in-Chief Gerard Baker, the primetime debate will start at 9PM/ET and include the top candidates earning 2.5 percent or higher, as determined by the four most recent national polls. The remaining candidates will be invited to participate in the 7PM/ET debate, which will be moderated by FBN’s Sandra Smith, Trish Regan and WSJ’s Washington Bureau Chief Gerald Seib. Both debates will focus on jobs, taxes, and the general health of the economy, as well as domestic and international policy issues.

FBN announced the entry criteria as follows:

Must meet all U.S. Constitutional requirements; and

  • Must announce and register a formal campaign for president; and
  • Must file all necessary paperwork with the Federal Election Commission (FEC); and
  • Must score 2.5 percent or higher in an average of the four most recent national polls conducted through November 4th, as recognized by FOX Business to participate in the 9PM/ET debate. Such polling must be conducted by major, nationally-recognized organizations that use standard methodological techniques (i.e., live interviewers, random digit-dial sampling techniques and include both landlines and cell phones).
  • Remaining candidates scoring below 2.5 percent and hitting at least 1 percent in one of the four most recent national polls conducted through November 4th, as recognized by FOX Business, will be invited to participate in the 7PM/ET debate. Such polling must be conducted by major nationally-recognized organizations that use standard methodological techniques (i.e., live interviewers, random digit-dial sampling techniques and include both landlines and cell phones.

On Tuesday, November 10th, coverage will kick off at 5PM/ET with a special edition of Varney & Co. featuring pre-debate news and analysis with host Stuart Varney. At 6PM/ET Lou Dobbs Tonight will follow with coverage heading into the first debate, with Regan, Smith and Seib, which will run from 7:00 PM-8:00 PM/ET, followed by a special edition of Lou Dobbs Tonight (8:00-9:00 PM/ET).

The primetime debate will begin at 9PM/ET, following which, Cavuto will anchor a one-hour special edition of CAVUTO: Coast to Coast live from the Spin Room at 11PM/ET. At midnight, John Stossel will host a special edition of Stossel featuring the Libertarian reaction to the debate with a live studio audience.

  • 9PM-11PM/ET: Republican Presidential Candidate Debate, Live from Milwaukee Theatre
  • 11PM-12AM: Special Edition of CAVUTO: Coast to Coast, Live from Milwaukee Theatre
  • 12AM-1AM: Special Edition of Stossel, Live from New York

Additionally, Bartiromo, Cavuto and Regan will anchor their shows live from the Milwaukee Theatre with post-debate news and analysis on Wednesday, November 11th starting at 6AM/ET.
