It’s the city that never sleeps, and apparently it’s because all New York City residents are working. Here’s a look at the top five hardest-working cities, according to Locality.com, based on average number of hours local businesses work with an emphasis on service-oriented businesses. (Reuters)

No. 1: New York City Hours worked per week: 65.91 New York City workers are clocking the most hours nationwide, according to Locality.com. New Yorkers average nearly 70 hours a week in the office, 13% higher than the national average. Dry cleaner employees in the Big Apple worked the hardest out of the businesses ranked at 71.1 hours per week, and nail salon workers were a close second with 68.3 hours weekly.

No. 2: Las Vegas Hours worked per week: 63.61 Employees in Sin City are the second hardest working in the country. The data compiled by Locality.com was based on the average number of hours local businesses work, with an emphasis on service-oriented businesses like dry cleaners and hair salons. (Reuters)

No. 3: Boston Hours worked per week: 63.49 Boston had the hardest working dry cleaners in the country, with 43% staying open to serve customers on Sundays. (Reuters)

No. 4: Los Angeles Hours worked per week: 62.85 hours The City of Angels had the fourth-hardest working businesses and employees in the nation. Their weekly hours are 7% higher than the national average, with workers at dry cleaners coming in at the top with 70.8 hours a week. (Reuters)

No. 5: San Jose Hours worked per week: 62.59 hours Another California city rounds out the top five with San Jose, where workers clocked 62.59 hours a week. (Reuters)
