Shares of energy producers rose alongside oil futures as optimism about the outcome of an OPEC meeting this week persisted. Skepticism about the ability of the cartel to control members' output and offset production increases in the U.S. and elsewhere has evaporated in light of recent storage data, suggesting the production deal has made some headway diminishing gluts. The deal may be extended.
