Clothing Maker Perry Ellis Reports 3Q Loss
Perry Ellis International Inc. (NASDAQ:PERY) on Thursday reported a loss of $437,000 in its fiscal third quarter.
On a per-share basis, the Miami-based company said it had a loss of 3 cents. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, were 3 cents per share.
The results fell short of Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 6 cents per share.
The clothing maker posted revenue of $211.4 million in the period, which also did not meet Street forecasts. Analysts expected $214.3 million, according to Zacks.
Perry Ellis expects full-year earnings in the range of 85 cents to 95 cents per share, with revenue in the range of $910 million to $920 million.
Perry Ellis shares have climbed 52 percent since the beginning of the year. The stock has risen 59 percent in the last 12 months.
