Chase to Give 12 Small Businesses $250,000 Each

Got a lot of fans? Then you might want to check out Mission Main Street Grants, Chase’s newly launched cash competition for small businesses.

Mission Main Street Grants will provide grants of $250,000 to 12 chosen small businesses. Winners will also receive a trip to Google for a small-business marketing workshop with in-house experts and a Google Chromebook Pixel computer.

All businesses that apply and meet eligibility requirements will also receive a social media toolkit and a special advertising offer from Google.

In order to be eligible for the grants, small businesses need to be two years or older and employ fewer than 100 year-round, full-time employees. Small businesses also need to drum up online support: Applicants are required to receive at least 250 votes online at Mission Main Street’s site in order to be eligible.

“The Internet presents endless opportunities to help small businesses grow and reach new customers,” said Jon Kaplan, Vice President of US Sales & Operations at Google.

The grant recipients will be chosen by expert panelists, including Kaplan, NFIB’s Mark Garzone and Donna Vieira, the head of marketing of product for Chase Business Banking.

Small businesses hoping to gain entry to the competition can receive votes from now until November 15, when voting closes. Winners will be announced in January 2014.
