Small Business of the Day: e-Buzz Edge

Who: Monica Sethi, 38, @ebuzzedge

What: A digital public-relations agency focusing on the restaurant industry

When: 2009

How: Sethi worked for more than a decade with Fortune 500s to help them establish a brand and grow. During the recession, her company shut down, and she noticed how everyone was keeping in touch via Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter.

"I found myself giving friends and family advice on how to leverage social media services for their business," she said. "I thought: 'This would be perfect for restaurants.'"

Sethi then approached a popular restaurant, Coco Sala, in the D.C. area, and asked if they would be interested in social media branding services. From there, e-Buzz Edge was born.

Where: Washington, D.C.

In her own words: "We know how to tap into the conversations taking place around  a restaurant. We also define strategies for connecting with those people and, where possible, enlisting them as brand ambassadors."
