Small Business Spotlight: Around the World Catering Services

How: Christopher Morrill, a licensed chef, launched Around the World Catering in 2011 with his longtime friend, Santiago Reyes. They cooked in the kitchen together for the first time when making food for a 50th birthday party. While they expected the food to taste good, Morrill said, the co-owners were surprised by how well the meal came together and soon created their own catering business.

“Being that Mexico is our neighbor, people obviously want Mexican food. But our menu is unique because we specialize in Latin, Oriental, Italian and American-regional cuisine,” Morrill said.

Morrill, whose mother is a pastry chef, also takes pride in his business’ dessert menu. Around the World Catering, which does not have a minimum requirement, provides food services for a variety of events like weddings, open houses and company events.
