Apple Begins Selling Refurbished iPhones

For the first time in the company’s history, Apple is selling refurbished iPhones through its online store. Some models are being offered at steep discounts, making the iPhone cheaper than ever.

Unfortunately, Apple’s latest models aren’t yet being offered through Apple’s refurbished store. That includes the iPhone SE, iPhone 7, and iPhone 7 Plus, the latter two of which were released in September.

If you don’t mind owning the older models, you’re in for some good savings. An unlocked iPhone 6s with 16GB of storage is selling for $449, which is $80 the regular asking price. Meanwhile, an iPhone 6s Plus with 64GB of storage is just $589. That’s $110 less than usual.

It could make a good holiday gift

With the holidays on the horizon, Apple’s timing couldn’t have been better. There are a variety of ways to get your hands on older iPhone models but going through Apple guarantees quality.

Here is what Apple says on its site:

As 9to5Mac notes, refurbished models include a brand new battery and outer shell, so you’re essentially getting a brand new device. The devices also come unlocked and SIM-free. All colors and sizes are being offered through its refurbished store.
