Ted Cruz

Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas won the Kansas Republican caucuses on Saturday, notching another victory in his drive to slow the momentum of front-runner Donald Trump. The Associated Press declared Mr. Cruz the winner. With 53% of precincts reporting, Mr. Cruz had 49% of the vote, followed by Mr. Trump with 24.7% and Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida with 14.8%. The party's top GOP officeholders were split over the candidates. Mr. Rubio was endorsed by Gov. Sam Brownback, Sen. Pat Roberts and Rep. Mike Pompeo. Mr. Cruz was endorsed by conservative Rep. Tim Huelskamp, and Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach endorsed Mr. Trump.
