JetBlue Lifts RASM Outlook On 'positive' May And June

JetBlue Airways Corp. raised its second-quarter outlook for a key revenue metric, citing expectations of a "positive" May and June performance. The air carrier now expects revenue per available seat mile to rise 4% to 6% from the same period a year ago, compared with previous guidance announced earlier this month of 3% to 6% growth. The company said the third-quarter outlook has also improved since it reported first-quarter earnings in late April. JetBlue is presenting later Tuesday morning at the Wolfe Research global transportation conference. JetBlue expects capacity to increase 4% to 6% in the second quarter, and 5.5% to 7.5% for the year. The stock, which was still inactive in premarket trade, has lost 3.8% year to date, while the NYSE Arca Airline Index has gained 1.2% and the S&P 500 has advanced 6.9%.
