U.S. Stocks Slump On Trump's Upset Victory

U.S. stocks opened lower on Wednesday as the financial markets grappled with the prospects of Republican Donald Trump as the 45th president of the United States. The S&P 500 fell 12 points, or 0.6%, to 2,127 while the Dow Jones Industrial Average shed 26 points, or 0.2%, to 18,305. The Nasdaq Composite dropped 39 points, or 0.8%, to 5,153. "The falls in some markets are understandable. A Clinton victory had been priced in by many investors and what a Trump presidency will look like is still unclear - markets hate uncertainty," said Martin Gilbert, chief executive of Aberdeen Asset Management.
